Last week we had the privilege of hosting hosting a Zesty.io meetup to San Diego developers. Our meetup this month was focused on how to get started with the Zesty.io platform, as well as create your own Blueprint (Template) and uploading it to GitHub. At the bottom of the page is a video of the talk, as well as well as all links mentioned in the video.

People started joining us at around 6pm, initially, allowing people to gather, have some drinks and snacks, as well as network with each other. This was a great chance for the attendees to get to know one another face to face, where normally the Zesty.io community is interacting online building websites. Not too long after the socializing began, our star speaker Dustin Horning, began talking about getting started using Zesty.io.

Dustin was able to show us all of the amazing ways you can begin using Zesty.io, no matter how technical you are. The talk largely covered two different things people can do with Zesty.io, working with the Sitemap and creating templates, and uploading them to GitHub. “My main goal of this presentation was to allow new Zesty.io users to have a hands on experience building a website on our platform together, something no documentation can provide”. With this talk Dustin helped the participants in the audience start with a blank website, and by the end, they had a funny functioning site, with their own custom template, that was put on GitHub. The attendees of the meetup, took his message to heart, having their laptops open, following along with the tutorial.

Aside from the talk given, what is so important to take away from these meetups, are the opportunities to meet other members of the Zesty.io community. Being able to put a face to a name adds immense value to any organization, especially one conducted largely online.

That is why we are so grateful for everyone that was able to come out. Next month we will be going even deeper talking about ways to integrate Zesty.io with additional programming languages and web apps. We are excited to welcome all of our community members who attended this meetup back next month, as well as anybody interested in getting more involved with Zesty.io.
